Ceramics 3D
Digital ceramics
Ceramacists work in three dimensions - but they communicate their work in two. Whether selling their pieces online or applying to residencies, the world of ceramics documentation is primarily flat. But these forms cannot often be expressed in 2D: the forms make sense only when you can see inside, around, and underneath them.
This project involved photogrammetry scanning 15 pieces by ceramicist Julia Mattis for use online.
Embedding Scans
Once scanned, ceramic pieces can be embedded directly into websites like the four below, and viewers can click to rotate and see them from all angles.
