StoryMaker
Hero's Journey bedtime story companion with random character prompts
You get a random character — say, a nervous astronaut who collects bottle caps — and the app walks you scene by scene until you've improvised a tale the kid won't forget. Each stage gives you random prompts — character names starting with certain letters, their biggest fears, favorite objects, homelands — to spark your imagination. You type or say the story aloud as you click through each stage. The site generates the structure and prompts; the narrative drama is up to you.
It's hard to ad-lib a proper bedtime story with a complete hero's journey arc. I made this simple tool to help you come up with one on the spot.
All the narrative drama is still up to you — but these are the bones. It'll even give you some help with names and relationships to get your ideas flowing.
I built this in javascript to run without any AI, locally in your browser.
