Wombats are fluffy, rugged, playful Australian marsupials. As babies they're friendly, but during adolescence they become wild. They have a tough life: invasive foxes spread mites that kill them, fast-driving cars hit and crush them, well-intentioned people capture and mistreat them. But a wombat vet run by two huge-hearted Aussies is trying to help. I emailed them back in December to ask what they would say in a PSA. I wasn't expecting this.
